Likely Voters, Registered Voters and You

We’re two weeks from November 6. Here are two items to contemplate:

— LIKELY VOTERS (LV):  Nationally polls are tied or have Romney ahead among LIKELY VOTERS (LV)

— REGISTERED VOTERS (RV):  in most polls, Obama is ahead by 5 to 7 percentage points among REGISTERED VOTERS (RV)

This is a huge “enthusiasm gap.” And this is where “GOTV” – get out the vote – comes in: making sure that those voters who have expressed support for the President actually vote.

We will be focused on New Hampshire through Nov. 6 – if you can do one thing between now and the election for President Obama, it could truly make a difference.  Last weekend Massachusetts sent over 700 volunteers to New Hampshire, and the goal is to keep this up.

CANVASSES TO NEW HAMPSHIRE GOTV:  We are now in the Get-Out-the-Vote mode.  The polls in New Hampshire continue to swing back and forth, and there is still a big percentage of “undecideds.”  We meet to arrange carpools to go to New Hampshire, for door-to-door canvassing.  There are meeting places for setting up carpools to NH in many places… here are a few.
