Needham Infrastructure… how safe is it?

There are hundreds of structurally deficient bridges and thousands of functionally obsolete bridges in Massachusetts. In April 2013, the Massachusetts Legislature rejected an opportunity to raise enough revenue to invest in the Commonwealth’s aging and crumbling infrastructure. The pictures below were taken on November 2, 2013, on the bridge over the Needham commuter rail line on Greendale Avenue. Constructed in 1932, the bridge shows nakedly visible signs of disrepair.
